Find your scent.

Every fragrance is built in three tiers that reveal themselves in turn as the lightest materials evaporate first and the heaviest last. In an extrait de parfum — the most concentrated form — each stage opens more slowly and lasts longer.

How a perfume unfolds

  1. Top

    The first impression

    First 10–30 minutes

The lightest, most volatile materials: citrus peels, bright spices, sparkling fruit. They are what you smell first on skin and on a blotter — and they leave first.

  2. Heart

    The character

From 20 minutes to several hours

Once the top lifts, the heart — the middle notes — takes over: flowers, green notes, softer spices, the theme of the fragrance. This is what most people mean by how a perfume smells.

  3. Base

    The memory

From the first hour into the next day

Woods, resins, musks and amber evaporate slowest. They anchor everything above them from the start and are the last to leave — often still on skin or clothes the next morning.
